Annihilus: Destroyer of Life II

Wow, I let this one slip through the cracks. I did this a while ago.  My homie Livesay did a bang up job on the inks, as usual, but I wasn't crazy about my pencils. That being said, I like it more now than I did then. I hope you guys like it!
Have a great weekend out there!

This is the finished pencil for an Annihilus Pin-up I did. An old friend of mine and comic book inker extraordinaire, Livesay, offered to put the finish on some samples of mine. He suggested Annihilus and being the huge FF fan that I am, I couldn't wait to put pencil to paper. I'll post his inks when I get this back...

Namor

A piece I did for fun and to practice my inking.

Snow Robo

I did this a couple years ago for a Heavy Metal pitch. Don't think it ever went anywhere. Good to practice the inking though.

Project: Mini Super-Portrait 45

All good things must come to an end. So I am sad (and somewhat relieved) to say this will be the last "Mini-Portrait" for a while.
I've finally come to the end of the little marker book I started over two months ago.
There's been up's and downs. Hits and misses, but overall was a pretty neat project I made up for myself.
I hope you enjoyed seeing these as much as I did making them.
So as Stan "the Man" Lee said "without further ado, because I don't have much ado to spare,"
I give you Hawkeye!

Project: Mini Super-Portrait 40

Making my way through the rest of Infinity Inc. this week.
Here's Jade.
I used to think it was so cool that Alan Scott, the original Green Lantern had kids. If Obsidian was my favorite, Jade was a close second.

Project: Mini Super-Portrait 39

Just for fun and since I've slacked a little with these down the stretch I'll double it up today. I'll finish with probably my favorite character from Infinity Inc.
Obsidian.
Going to finish the rest of the team next week.
Have a good one out there.

Project: Mini Super-Portrait 38

Keeping the Infinity Inc. theme going with a quick sketch of Nuklon.

Project: Mini Super-Portrait 37

Going back to the early days, for me. I thought Infinity Inc. was awesome. Still do. The Star Spangled Kid was a big part of that. I remember loving the artists, Jerry Ordway and later a young, almost unrecognizable Todd McFarlane (who i didn't love so much back then).
This was fun.
Enjoy!

Project: Mini Super-Portrait 36

As promised, albeit a day late...
Dagger.

Project: Mini Super-Portrait 35

Here's todays selection, Cloak.
One of my favorites as a kid. I loved Rick Leonardi's take on the character(s).
I'll try and get you guys some Dagger tomorrow!

Project: Mini Super-Portrait 29

Captain Britain is really cool.
Still trying to get on track with the mini portraits.
So much going on lately.
Anyways, did I mention that Captain Britain is really cool?
The more I look at him the more I want to go down to the pub for a pint.
Cheers!

Been awhile. Trying to get back on track, so I did this as a warm-up tonight. A very childlike Robin.
 Hope you like.

Captain America

Sorry it's been over a week since I posted. I was super sick last week, so not too much drawing was getting done.  I should be getting back on track shortly. In the meantime, here is a sketch of Cap inspired by one of my heroes, the late great John Buscema.

Project: Mini Super-Portrait 18

Friday is here! The most rocking-est day of the week!
So, we'll wrap this week up proper with a sketch of The Venture Bros. own,
Brock Samson,
 in all his mulleted glory!
See you next week followers, now get out there and have some fun!

Project: Mini Super-Portrait 17

Steve Canyon.
This one was scary. Milton Caniff is a cartooning god and anything I draw will pale in in comparison to the legendary master. I probably don't deserve to even try, but I went and did it anyway. I've always respected and admired Caniff's work, but when I learned he was also a Great Dane owner that pretty much vaulted him to greatest all-time in my book!
I hope you like it.
Have a good one out there!

Project: Mini Super-Portrait 14

Let's get this week started!!! Yeee-aahh!!!
Bizzaro Girl!!!
This one is for fellow Cadence Comic Art bro, Jamal Igle.
If you haven't already, do yourself a favor and go pick up a copy of Supergirl #55, Jamal does a great job (as always), but for real, Supergirl is one of the most flat-out fun DC books I've read in awhile.
Period.

Project: Mini Super-Portrait 13

Another week has come and gone. Time flies when you're drawing fun!
So, to round off the week I'll leave you with one of the many great creations from the man himself,
Jack "King" Kirby.
I present to you a rendition of
The Demon.
Thanks for checking in. You all have a great weekend out there!
